“Yesterday was a difficult day all around. Paul Bloodgood’s funeral was in a fittingly New England-like church uptown. I heard it was really moving. I’m so sad I couldn’t be there. I’m in La Jolla taking care of Uncle and last night I got some scary news. Mom basically went straight from JFK to Methodist Hospital E.R. She had atrial fibrillation and they had to shock her to set it straight. She’s better today. I hope she’s discharged tomorrow. Mother’s Day has been rough for us.
