“Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of Robert Smithson’s influential trip to Passaic, NJ, so Paul R-J and I took the 190 bus from Port Authority to retrace his steps. The monuments were mostly missing until we got to the end of the tour where we found the sandbox monument, a lasting decrepit testament to Smithson’s beloved entropy. Later, i ran into Jackie Tileston, who made me newly confident about the bruise paintings.
