“This feels like a pivotal painting. It’s the first one I’ve done at dusk. And it makes me realize that the 8 by 6 foot paintings should be about this impossibility of capturing the changing sky. I’m late to the studio because I spent the whole day with Ella. First soccer in Long Island (3 - 1 win!) and then a test at Bard High School.
