A 14 × 14 inch, acrylic painting of the sky. A journal entry is handwritten on the painting:

“My new favorite time of day is between moonset and sunrise. This desert climate feels like home except for the sandstorms. The sky and the landscapes can be breathtaking. Day 4 of 10, silent meditation near Joshua Tree. My capacity to ignore the pain and to be less reactive while sitting has noticeably grown. It’s finally obvious all the reasons why focus on the breath (voluntary and involuntary) and bodily sensation is so crucial. My mind’s chattering is relentless, always rolling around in the past of events that seem crucial or random or an ungraspable future that spins out nevertheless.
